Sofia P. Caldeira is currently a Researcher at CICANT - Centre for Research in Applied Communication, Culture, and New Technologies, at Lusófona University, Portugal.
Sofia holds a Communication Sciences PhD from Ghent University, Belgium (2020), funded by the Portuguese Foundation for Science and Technology (FCT), an MA in Anthropology – Visual Cultures from the Faculty of Social Sciences and Humanities of the Nova University of Lisbon, Portugal, and a BA in Art & Multimedia from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon.
Sofia’s research interests focus primarily on social media, self-representation practices, politics of gender representation, everyday aesthetics, and feminist media studies. Her research has been published in journals such as Social Media + Society, Feminist Media Studies, and Information Communication & Society.
Sofia P. Caldeira is a member of the European Communication and Research Association (ECREA), where she is vice-chair of the Digital Culture and Communication Section.
