Babette Lagrange obtained a master’s degree in Philosophy at Ghent University (Summa cum laude). For this, she wrote a dissertation on the fear for being a woman. To further explore their interest in the topics around gender, diversity and sexuality, she followed and obtained the MSc Gender (Sexuality) at the London School of Economics and Political Science. During this second master, she wrote a dissertation on the confusion, shame and pride that can come along with being bisexual.
Babette now works as a research assistant on the Horizon2020 funded project EUMEPLAT (European Media Platforms, https://www.eumeplat.eu). This project aims to analyse the role of media platforms in fostering or dismantling European identity. The coming year one of the main focuses will be on gender and (im)migration. Babette works on this project under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Daniel Biltereyst and Prof. Dr. Sofie Van Bauwel.
