Charl Linde
Charl holds a Bachelor of Arts degree majoring in English, Media & Writing and Afrikaans, as well as a Bachelor of Arts Honours degree in Afrikaans and Netherlandic Studies. His Masters degree in Media Theory and Practice (with distinction in the dissertation) comprised a satirical creative production and theoretical explication that focused on the Democratic Alliance political party in South Africa. Course work towards that degree was completed at both the University of Cape Town and Stockholm University and concentrated by and large on political communication and media representation. His PhD research focused on the media trial using the Oscar Pistorius saga as a case study. He was a Fox International Fellow at Yale for 2015-16 and his stay for 2016-17 at Ghent University was funded by the European Commission's International Science Promoting Innovation and Entrepreneurship Erasmus Mundus Programme.
