Elbie Lombard
Elbie was a PhD student at Ghent University and member of CIMS (Center for Cinema and Media Studies) starting from December 2014. She holds a B.Comm Communication Degree B Comm (Hons) in Industrial Sociology (Cum Laude) and a Master’s Degree in Communication Science. Her research project was funded by European Commission, Erasmus Mundus Action 2 project, EU-Saturn. The working title of her research is “Tattoos: creating meaning, shaping identities” and focused on young adults and their tattoos: what are young adults communicating with their tattoos and how are they communicating with their tattoos? Her PhD supervisor was prof. Sofie Van Bauwel.
Elbie also worked as lecturer in the Department of Communication Sciences of the University of the Free State, South Africa.
