Gary Yang joined CIMS as a PhD candidate in March 2024. He is also affiliated with the Institute of Social Research and Cultural Studies at National Yang Ming Chiao Tung University in Taiwan. Gary holds two master’s degrees in Radio and Television in NTUA, and Educational Policy and Administration in NTNU.
The PhD project he is currently working on focuses on exploring the reception of Chinese Films & Videos by Overseas Chinese, under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Stijn Joye, Prof. Dr. Daniël Biltereyst, and Prof. Dr. Eduard Cuelenaere. More specifically, Yang focuses on the differences between the generation’s relationship with young people and their parents.
