Opening the black box of the newsroom
This research aims to explore the structure and division of labor within leading newsrooms worldwide for the first time. The study includes one newsroom per country that produces both a leading quality newspaper and an online news website. The Center for Journalism Studies has selected De Standaard for this purpose. Data is collected through interviews with senior editors and news executives who are key decision-makers, along with an analysis of organizational news output, records, documents, and trade databases related to newsrooms and news beats in Belgium. The project spans from April 2023 to December 2023.
