Master's programme
Objectives master's programme
The bachelor's programme culminates in a master's programme. Students are offered the opportunity to specialise in a subdomain of social sciences. There are four specialisations by which Ghent University distinguishes itself from other universities that have a similar programme.
Each of our specialisations is backed by a specific research centre.
- Center for Persuasive Communication (CEPEC)
- Centre for Cinema and Media Studies (CIMS)
- Center for Journalism Studies (CJS)
- Media, innovation and communication technologies (MICT)
Each specialisation follows the same structure:
- Four obligatory courses that allow students to broaden and deepen their knowledge of a specific field of communication sciences
- Elective courses that students can choose from a varied list tailored to the specialization, an internship, and/or an educational trajectory abroad
- The master's dissertation as final proof of the student's ability to independently conduct scientific research. From a literature review to the final implementation of and reporting on empirical research.
