Maaike Paredis
Status: Phd researcher
Maaike Paredis obtained a Master of Science in Sociology and a Master of Science in Health Promotion. In 2023, she worked as a researcher at the Hedera research group, where she was involved in a European project on vaccine hesitancy (VAX-TRUST project) and the development of an online educational module for healthcare professionals. As of March 2024, Maaike started working as a PhD researcher at Hedera. She is currently engaged in the BELSPO project ‘DistantButClose’ which seeks to explore the public health relevance of loneliness and social isolation during pandemic times. Furthermore, this project investigates the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on loneliness and social isolation across different sociodemographic groups. Maaike is working under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Piet Bracke, Dr. Katrijn Delaruelle and Dr. Melissa Ceuterick.
