NDC, The National Documentation Centre on Drug Use
The National Documentation Centre on Drug Use (NDC) is a unique information resource providing Irish researchers with access to electronic and hard copy research documentation on all aspects of drug use. Visitors to the website can use the Electronic Library of Irish drug-related research and a range of other valuable research material. The National Documentation Centre in Holbrook House holds a special collection of up-to-date literature on drug use and addiction and a number of valuable online bibliographic databases.
DOHC, The Department of Health and Children
The Department of Health and Children's statutory role is to support the Minister in the formulation and evaluation of policies for the health services. It also has a role in the strategic planning of health services. This is carried out in conjunction with the Health Service Executive, voluntary service providers, Government Departments and other interests. The division of ?Community Health and Drugs? advance initiatives to improve the health and well-being of drug users within the context of the National Drugs Strategy, and to ensure appropriate regulation and control of drugs. It also facilitates and monitors the implementation of the AIDS Strategy 2000.
