Femke Gremmelprez

Femke Gremmelprez (6 August, 1991, Halle) is affiliated member at the Ghent European Law Institute. She works as policy officer and legal officer in the ‘fundamental rights policy’ unit of the European Commission (DG JUST, Unit C.2).
Before that she was academic assistant and researcher at the department of European, public and international law (2015-2021) and obtained her PhD in August 2022. Before starting her career as an academic assistant, she obtained a Master’s degree in Law (Ghent University, 2014, Cum Laude) and an LLM in European Union Law (Ghent University, 2015, Magna Cum Laude).
Femke’s research interests encompass in particular the enforcement of the values of the European Union and the fundamental rights of the European Union and, more in general, constitutional and substantive law of the European Union.
