Biography

Jan Van Laer works as a legal advisor at Unia, the Interfederal Cente for Equal Opportunities, and is also a teaching assistant in the course 'Law and Society'. Jan first obtained a bachelor and master degree in Criminological Sciences at the KULeuven (2013). Afterwards he studied law at the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (2016).

After his studies, Jan was a lawyer for four years, mainly handling cases in immigration law and criminal law. In August 2020, he joined Unia, where he mainly deals with the criminal aspects of discrimination law.
