Biography

Piet Heyvaert is a lawyer specialised in migration and refugee law at the Brussels Bar. Since 2020, he has been working at the law firm Alter Égaux Avocats, which provides low-threshold legal assistance in primarily migration cases.

Piet obtained his master's degree in law at the UGent in 2019, where he took, amongst others, the Legal Clinic Migration Law practice course, which played a decisive role in his later professional choices.

Since December 2023, he has been working as a practice assistant at the Legal Clinic within the Migration Law research group.
