(04-04-2025) From the end of March to the end of April, the GIPLI team is temporarily reinforced with a visiting scholar: Prof. Jacopo Fortuna.

Jacopo Fortuna is a research fellow at the Scuola Universitaria Superiore Sant’Anna in Pisa and a lecturer at the University of Macerata. His main scientific interest is in comparative and European private law, with a particular focus on civil law/common law comparison, contract law and new technologies. He has published and will continue publishing on smart contracts, blockchain, artificial intelligence and cybersecurity.

During his research stay in Ghent, Prof. Fortuna hopes to extend his knowledge on IP-related issues that touch his core field of expertise, mainly by engaging in research activities. His stay is part of the ongoing efforts of GIPLI to enhance our international profile and to contribute to the Ghent University strategy of Internationalisation@Home.

We wish Prof. Fortuna an enjoyable and fruitful stay in Ghent!
