Hannes Abraham
Hannes Abraham has been working as a teaching assistant at Ghent University since 2021 for intellectual property courses.
He holds a Master's of Law degree from Ghent University (2011) and an Advanced Master’s degree in IP Law from KU Leuven (2012).
In addition, Hannes is a lawyer admitted to the Bar (Brussels, 2012 and Ghent, 2022). His practice is focused on intellectual property and commercial litigation. He represents international and local clients on a variety of matters related to intellectual property, IT, trade practices, advertising, e-commerce, games of chance and distribution.
He has extensive experience in litigating matters before all levels of Belgian courts as well as courts and administrative bodies of the European Union. Furthermore, his practice consists of non-contentious matters, including advising and the drafting of various types of commercial and IT agreements.
Hannes is also appointed by CEPANI as a third-party decider for disputes relating to domain names. He also serves on the editorial board of IE-Forum.be and is a member of the AI Committee of professional organisation BMM. Hannes regularly speaks and publishes on various subjects in the field of IP and IT.
