Missie
De UGent is een open, pluralistische en maatschappelijk geëngageerde universiteit. Onze universiteit is meer dan 200 jaar oud, biedt meer dan 200 opleidingen aan en voert onderzoek in tal van wetenschappelijke disciplines. We zijn een vrijhaven voor durfdenkers en dwarsliggers.
De UGent is opgericht in 1817. De voorbije 200 jaar telde de UGent vele eminente wetenschappers, ministers en zelfs Nobelprijswinnaars onder haar medewerkers en alumni.
