The exhibition is the result of the research seminar special issue 'Peire-Knokke' (MA Art Sciences & MA Engineering, Architecture led by Prof. Wouter Davidts and Yves Coussement) in which the students considered an exhibition format that challenges the existing narrative about the life and work of Luc Peire and contextualizes it more broadly. How can we rethink the conventional format of the monographic exhibition and develop a new approach to the oeuvre of an already extensively studied, presented and canonized artist? As an experiment, the students are putting together an exhibition with works from the Jenny & Luc Peire Foundation (MuZEE) on the one hand and the VANDENHOVE collection (UGent) on the other.
