Ghent University Global Campus - Korea (GUGC-K)
Ghent University is the first European university to start a campus on Incheon Global Campus (IGC) after the invitation by the Ministry of Trade, Industry & Energy (MOTIE), the Ministry of Education (MoE), and the Incheon Free Economic Zone (IFEZ).
The Korean government asked Ghent University because of its worldwide reputation as a top 100 university and its life science programs, which are ranked within the international top 40.
Ghent University Global Campus opened in September 2014, offering three bachelor degree programs in life sciences: Environmental Technology, Food Technology and Molecular Biotechnology (see Education).
The Lab of Plant Growth Analysis (headed by Professor Stephen Depuydt) is part of GUGC-K and conducts systematic and comprehensive research towards plant growth and development, with a specific goal to foster crop improvement through integrated and multidisciplinary research on model plant systems.
