Assigning of the Master's Dissertation
The procedure below is valid for students of the Master programmes:
- Bioscience Engineering: Cell and Gene Biotechnology
- M.Sc. in Environmental Science and Technology
- M.Sc. in Nutrition and Food Systems
For all other international Master programmes: consult the regulations as described in the programme specific master dissertation guidelines.
At the latest the Friday of lecture week 12 of the 2nd semester, you will be informed via Ufora if the subjects are assigned in the master dissertation application.
- What happens if several students selected the same subject?
The promotor decides who can take the subject. In case your first choice has not been accepted, the second choice will be assigned, and so on.
- What happens if none of my choices can be assigned?
For those who cannot take up any of their choices, you will be advised by the FSA on how to select another topic.
In the list "my subjects" you can see how many students have already chosen the same subject. Keep an eye on this, because if all subjects of your choice are popular, the chance of getting one of your chosen subjects is smaller. The date of entering your preferences will not be taken into account when making an attribution.
Assignment implies a commitment from both parties: on the one hand, the student engages to take up the chosen subject; on the other hand, the promotor engages that the student will be able to carry out this subject.
