Maintaining scientific integrity and producing publishable, reproducible research are crucial for young academics. Recognizing this need, the Doctoral Schools proudly support FIRE (Fostering Innovative Research based on Evidence) Consulting, dedicated to empowering PhD students and post-docs with expert statistical and methodological advice.

Since launching on February 1, 2017, FIRE has been offering complimentary statistical support to help (post)doctoral researchers design, analyze, and publish their data-driven studies. Each researcher is welcome to take advantage of 2 hours of free, expert guidance from our experienced staff. Should your project require extended support, additional arrangements can be made.

Whether you're at the stage of planning your study, collecting data, analyzing results, or preparing your findings for publication, our team is here to assist. To get started, simply fill out the consulting request form on our website, where you'll find all the details about our terms of service.

  • Wednesdays from 14:00 to 18:00
  • Thursday from 9:00 to 12:00

Please go to the FIRE Teams meeting and wait in the lobby for one of our consultants. Questions are answered on a first-come, first-served basis, with no appointment necessary. You may have to wait while our consultants are helping other clients. Thank you for your understanding.

(Meetings are not limited to the Drop-in hours. A request for a meeting can be done at all times through the consulting request form)

Looking to the future, we will be working to expand our services and grow back into full time mode through tapping into existing channels that finance research. In light of this, we encourage all researchers applying for grants to foresee some budget in the application to cover for expert professional statistical support. At this center you will be able to obtain such help at no more than the basic cost.
