Prof. Oliver Dukes is a tenure track assistant professor (50%) and FWO Junior Postdoctoral Fellow (50%) at Ghent University in the Department of Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, and Statistics. He graduated from Ghent with a PhD in Statistical Data Analysis in 2019 and conducted postdoctoral research in the Deparment of Statistics and Data Science at the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. His develops methods for drawing causal inferences from observational and randomised trial data, with a focus on semiparametric estimation strategies. He has focused on learning causal effects with machine learning, causal inference with time-to-event outcomes and reducing bias due to unmeasured confounding.
