About us

The Department Materials, Textiles and Chemical Engineering (MaTCh) has been created on 1 February 2017 and groups a large number of UGent staff members active in two overall domains: (i) Circularity and Sustainability” and (ii) “Development of high technological processes and materials”, in the larger framework of activities in chemical engineering, materials science and mechanical engineering.

The first head of Match was Prof. Dr. Paul Kiekens, who retired on 1 October 2020. He was succeeded by Prof. Dr. Marie-Françoise Reyniers, who retired on 1 October 2022. She has been succeeded by Prof. Dr. Dagmar R. D’hooge.
