Johan Christiaens

Johan Christiaens is a Full Professor in the Department of Accounting, Corporate Finance and Taxation at Ghent University.

Until 2020 he has been a registered auditor specialized in public and non-profit sector within EY.
This explains his ongoing collaboration with regulatory bodies, governments, legislators, and standard-setting organizations.

His teaching and research focuses mainly on public and non-profit sector accounting and auditing.
He has published a large number of papers in several journals (e.g. International Review of Administrative Sciences, Public Management Review, Public Money & Management, AAAJ, European Accounting Review, Non-profit and Voluntary Sector Quarterly, Baltic Journal of Management, Lex Localis, …).
