Masterclass and panel on how to achieve societal impact of research on equality and non-discrimination.
We warmly invite you to participate in an event on ‘Bridging Academia, Advocacy and Policy in Realising Social Change’, which will be held on the occasion of the visit of Professor Sandra Fredman (University of Oxford).
Professor Fredman is a leading international authority in the field of equality, anti-discrimination and human rights, and will be awarded an honorary doctorate by Ghent University on Dies Natalis (21 March 2025).
The event aims at bringing together academics, students, civil society, practitioners and policymakers to explore how research in equality and non-discrimination can contribute to realising social change, and how allyship between academia, civil society and policy can be pursued.
During the event, Professor Fredman will first give a masterclass on how she approaches societal impact in her own activities. Afterwards, we will continue the conversation with a panel moderated by Eva Brems and a Q&A with the audience. The event is followed by a reception.
