Felipe Vargas delves into the intersections of development, coloniality, and the concept of "Buen vivir" in Latin Amercia.
Join us for an enlightening lecture by visiting scholar Felipe Vargas (NUCLEAR) that delves into the intersections of development, coloniality, and the concept of "buen vivir" in Latin America.
This session will explore three key themes:
- Theoretical Framework: We’ll begin with a foundational overview that sets the stage for our discussion.
- Energetic Mega-Projects: Discover how mega-projects since the 1970s have perpetuated colonial and developmental logics in the Global South.
- ‘Buen Vivir’ as an Alternative: Can 'buen vivir' serve as a genuine alternative to traditional development models?
We’ll examine the necessity of a political practice of care amid ongoing environmental injustices.
