Seminar by prof. Sofia Johan (Florida Atlantic University) on Global FinTech Trends.
In this seminar, Sofia Johan will expand on Global FinTech Trends, focusing on the evolution and impact of her research in this field. She will provide an overview of how her academic journey has transitioned, starting from Law & Finance and shifting towards Entrepreneurial Finance. This is relevant for many (young) scholars working on or transitioning between dynamic research topics.
Following this, she will discuss recent working papers and offer insights into the specific topics she and her coauthors have explored. She will explain the rationale behind selecting them, the research gaps they aimed to address, and the methodologies used to investigate these areas.
Finally, drawing on her extensive experience as a prolific author and journal editor, she will share valuable lessons learned from reviewing numerous referee reports and will discuss how feedback from these reports has shaped her research approach, enhanced her work's rigor, and influenced her research agenda.
