Prof Sonja Swanson (University of Pittsburgh) will discuss causal effect estimation in epidemiology, covering methods, applications, and open problems.
Prof Sonja Swanson will discuss methods for both observational studies and pragmatic randomized trials, with applications in neuropsychiatric disorders and related health outcomes. As an editor of Epidemiology, she will also address future challenges in the field.
Prof Swanson specializes in causal inference, methodological transparency, and rigor. She has received the Brian MacMahon Early Career Award and teaches an advanced course on causal inference.
The talk is aimed at PhD students in causal inference and the health and social sciences, featuring a Q&A format.
