This mini-symposium aims to showcase novel bioprocess concepts and synthetic biology approaches for the biorefining of waste streams.

The first lecture, "Biorefineries for Bio-Based Economy", given by Prof Piotr Oleskowicz-Popiel (Poznan University of Technology), will focus on the latest advancements in biorefinery technologies and their potential for driving the bio-based economy.

The second lecture, “Synthetic Communities & Synthetic Biofilms for Next-Generation Biorefineries”, given by Dr. Pieter Candry (Wageningen University & Research), will explore cutting-edge synthetic biology approaches in bioprocessing.

These public lectures aim to foster cross-disciplinary dialogue. Following the talks, dedicated time for Q&A and/or individual discussions is available on demand to allow for broader engagement with the audience.
