Keynote lecture ‘The importance of diversity in academics: when different backgrounds meet, new ideas arise’
Deputy Prime Minister Petra De Sutter tells us about the importance of diversity in academia. When individuals from different backgrounds come together in an academic setting, they bring with them a variety of perspectives and ideas to the field, leading to more innovative research, new approaches to problem-solving and a greater understanding of the world around us. It also helps to create a more inclusive and equitable environment for all members of the academic community and to prepare our students for a diverse and global workforce. The keynote lecture (20 min) will be followed by a Q&A (10 min).
This lecture is part of the Research Day of the faculties of Medicine and Health Sciences, Pharmaceutical Sciences and Veterinary Medicine.
