UQ-Ghent University: Health – Antibiotics Research Collaboration
Antimicrobial resistance in severe infections is a global health care priority as it is related to increased mortality and comes at a high cost. AMR is expected to further increase in the next years and become the leading cause of mortality worldwide. Antimicrobials are the cornerstone of therapy, but their use is directly related to AMR development hence a correct use is critical.
In this Strategical International Partnership, we wish to enhance collaboration between the partners in the domain of antimicrobials, aimed at increasing our understanding of the different aspects of AMR, optimizing the use of antimicrobials, and reducing AMR development in a OneHealth context.
