Ghent University funding for the Ghent University Community: staff, students and academics

Global Minds Fund

The Federal Government installed as from 2017 the Global Minds Fund. Each year, federal funds are allocated through the VLIR-UOS secretariat to Ghent University so as to further develop and expand its capacity in University Development Cooperation. By integrating development issues into education and research, the Global Minds Fund (GMF) strives to foster global citizenship and solidarity in society to better respond to global challenges.

This Global Minds Fund is a new approach established as a programme that will increase the Flemish universities’ capacity on knowledge, scientific approaches and technology  to sustain, improve and widen their collaboration with partners in the South (developing countries). Furthermore the program aims at sensitizing academics and students for issues related to University Development Cooperation (UDC).

The call welcomes staff and students, both new to the field of University Development Cooperation or already active in it.

Institutional University Cooperation

The Institutional University Cooperation is a wide and long-term cooperation for teaching and research between a limited number of universities in developing countries and Flemish universities.
