Job description

Our interdisciplinary research group is looking for a motivated and enthusiastic collaborator to conduct research on the importance of the hip capsule to support and assist lower limb motion. The research is part of an FWO research project that studies the impact of hip surgery on the integrity and function of the hip capsule. It concerns a doctoral track of 4 years.
The successful candidate will contribute to pioneering new clinical approaches tailored to the individualized treatment of musculoskeletal conditions. You will be part of an interdisciplinary research team consisting of physicians, engineers and biomedical scientists.

WHAT WE CAN OFFER YOU

  • We offer a full-time position as a doctoral fellow, consisting of an initial period of 12 months, which - after a positive evaluation, will be extended to a total maximum of 48 months.
  • Your contract will start on 01/10/2024. at the earliest.
  • The fellowship amount is 100% of the net salary of an AAP member in equal family circumstances. The individual fellowship amount is determined by the Department of Personnel and Organization based on family status and seniority. A grant that meets the conditions and criteria of the regulations for doctoral fellowships is considered free of personal income tax. Click here for more information about our salary scales

Job profile

- You have a strong interest in the musculoskeletal system
- You enjoy working with patients and fluently speak Dutch
- You are highly motivated to conduct scientific research
- You are capable of independently develop and execute a research project in terms of content
- You have distinguished yourself as a promising researcher in your master's thesis research
- Knowledge of research methods (or willing to retrain in them) in the field of musculoskeletal disorders, exercise physiology, biomechanics and medical imaging
- Have good writing skills, both in English and in Dutch
- You are eager to engage in international conferences and publish internationally
- You are committed to pursuing a doctoral degree (including doctoral training)
