What is pecuniary seniority WP?
By monetary seniority we mean all the work experience you have accumulated in your career both inside and outside UGent. Under certain conditions, seniority acquired outside UGent can be included in the calculation of your salary.
Pecuniary seniority applies to the WP category

- the duration of an employment contract of at least 50% at a university other than those referred to in b) or at a national or international academic institution, on the understanding that the assignment includes academic activities and provided that the university board recognizes these activities as such. The years spent as a doctoral fellow are included in this;

Seniority is expressed in years and full calendar months. These always start on the first of the month. If the starting date is not the first of the month, the seniority will be calculated from the first of the month following the recruitment date.
