Short Bio
Elien is a teaching assistant at the Tax law Institute within the department of Interdisciplinary Study of Law, Private Law and Business Law at the UGent Faculty of Law & Criminology where she gives guest lectures and focuses on research concerning corporate income taxes and tax procedures.
In addition, as a tax lawyer, she specializes in Belgian and international tax law and focuses on complex tax disputes. She also advises on IP tax incentives and the tax aspects of national and international transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, (re)financing transactions, investments in private equity, and corporate restructurings.
Elien obtained her master’s degree in law at the University of Ghent and pursued an additional master’s degree in tax at the Université Libre de Bruxelles.
Elien is also a member of the International Fiscal Association and the Young IFA Network.
