Doctoral course 2023
What
Title: Multidisciplinary research tools to study work and the labour market
Language: English
Level: Academic Master is a prerequisite
Target group: PhD students, especially those whose research relates to work and the labour market in a broad sense. The course is recognised by the following Ghent University Doctoral Schools:
- Doctoral Schools of Arts, Humanities and Law
- Doctoral Schools of Social and Behavioural Sciences
- Doctoral Schools of Life Sciences and Medicine
In these Doctoral Schools, it therefore counts as one of the mandatory specialist courses in the Doctoral Training Programme.
Abstract: Few topics are studied in so many disciplines (both in general and at UGent) as topics on work and the labour market. Therefore, to thoroughly answer research questions related to these topics, it is necessary to surpass a merely monodisciplinary approach. In this specialist course, participants from multiple disciplines will (i) be immersed by means of seminars in multi- and interdisciplinary research tools to study work and the labour market and (ii) draw up an original research proposal in collaboration with another participant from another discipline.
Who
- The lectures are given by nine professors and researchers; and three societal stakeholders affiliated to the interdisciplinary research consortium (IDC) UGent @ Work.
- The 2023 course is coordinated by the coordinator of UGent @ Work, dr. Brecht Neyt.
