Angelini Brain Health Chair
Objectives
The chair offers the opportunity to pursue a doctorate with the aim of investigating the determinants of brain health and developing preventive, diagnostic and intervention strategies to maintain and restore brain health.

Supervisor
Prof. Kristl Vonck specializes in difficult-to-treat epilepsy and neurostimulation.
This condition has her special interest, both within clinical practice and scientific research. She participates in a number of scientific projects, both clinical and pre-clinical, around vagus nerve stimulation (invasive and non-invasive), transcranial magnetic stimulation, deep brain stimulation, seizure detection and home-monitoring, opto- and chemogenetics and bioelectronic medicine, among others.
Prof. Vonck has an important teaching role in medical education, as well as in the training of physician specialists in neurology. She became senior lecturer in neurology in 2007. Since 2018, she has been head of the Department of Head & Skin (GE-34).
