Straumann Chair

OBJECTIVES

The Straumann Chair aims to support education and scientific research in oral implantology and bioengineering at UGent. Driven by social developments, the course in oral implantology was recently introduced in the dental school and the content of the bioengineering course was thoroughly revised. The preclinical practicals of these courses and a number of guest lectures will be actively supported by the Straumann Chair.

Prof. Jan Cosyn's research group emphasises clinical research in oral implantology and bioengineering. The Straumann Chair enables the exploration of new insights into these fields with the aim of optimising surgical procedures.
